His greatest role is creating meaningful relationships with clients, forging a strong collaborative spirit both with the West of 5 family and the businesses they serve.
He brings to the team a sense of adventure, whether it be chasing waves, carving up the slopes, or sinking putts on the golf course. His wanderlust has taken him all over the world. Travel broadens the mind, they say, as well as the soul. Each new location he sets foot in means forging new relationships, and that bond enriches the sense of perspective, of empathy, of understanding a person’s needs. As a SoCal native, Lori is West of 5 to her bones. There is no mountain, no project, no challenge she can’t ascend. She previously worked as an Executive Director at Sony Pictures Entertainment where she handled worldwide product development for the Consumer Products & Marketing division. Before Sony she held the role of Promotions Manager for the surf and sport company Maui and Sons.
Aside from the blood and sweat she puts into West of 5, she enjoys challenging herself on the hardcore trails of Southern California, relishing in the challenge and the accomplishment. While raising a teenage son keeps her plenty busy, she thrives in the fun-loving, stimulating work environment that brings together a melting pot of personalities. Jeremy is a bit of an anomaly at West of 5. An east coast transplant, by way of South Africa, Jeremy sees his role as Project Manager as one that brings necessary focus to the creative work. Working for such brands as Brand Knew, Ethree and Fitcause has given him years of experience shepherding the often unruly creatives and turning their visions into reality. His east coast pragmatism, born of many harsh winters, provides the perfect balance to the kinetic, creative energy of his west coast peers.
But don’t let that fool you. Jeremy has a creative side. Away from his desk he enjoys working with his hands, building furniture, drawing, tinkering with cars and designing his own electric skateboard. His own creative endeavors informs the work he does ushering great design into the world.
Jeremy enjoys his new life out west. He stays active and involved, volunteering his time with the non-profit Global Village Sports, which provides sports equipment and leadership training for places in need all over the globe. While he is and always will be an east-coaster, a part of his heart and soul have found a home west of the 5.
Max comes from a family of builders and designers. It’s in his blood. Ever since he was a child he’s had the curiosity and passion for breaking, taking apart and rebuilding everything he could get his hands on. Now he brings that same drive and talent to West of 5. His mission is to help the team realize their creative goals, turning their dreams and visions into reality.
While he traveled afield to study Industrial Design at Savanna College of Art and Design, he is West Coast born and bred. When he isn’t designing and building professionally, he enjoys putting his idle hands to work in the kitchen and on the grill. The challenge and patience of cooking great BBQ is the kind of exacting work on which he thrives. And he isn’t above over-indulging in the spoils of his labors.
Every design team needs to the kind of visionary who gets their hands dirty, one who knows how to turn the great idea into real work, a thing that can be held and touch. Max is the man who builds upon the strong foundation at West of 5.

Away from the job site, Carlos enjoys spending quality time with his son, or tinkering in his garage. His hands are always busy. He enjoys nothing more than being the guy people can count on, delivering on the dreams and visions of the client.

Monti sees the world through his lens. In his years as a photographer, he and his camera have helped define the signature look of many brands, including Skullcandy Headphones, Levis, Gap, Redbull and Vice Magazine. But Monti sees his role as a content creator. It’s more than merely documenting a brand, but creating a style, image and attitude.
He takes his camera wherever he goes. Traveling all over the world, he lives to document people in their natural habitat. As for his natural habitat, Monti is always on the move. When he’s not photographing the lives of others, he creates his own adventure. He often competes in vintage moto races, donating his winnings to every taco stand in northern Baja. In his down time he restores vintage cameras and motorcycles.
Getting the best photo is often being at the right place at the right time. Often this means having the courage and the sense of adventure necessary to capture the moment. All these traits and more make him West of 5 material. He always makes sure to capture their good side.
Josh’s first and last love is narrative, telling stories people connect with, whether that be in poetry, prose, or helping a brand find it’s voice. Originally from Cincinnati, he obtained an MFA in creative writing on a fellowship—awarded by the writer Richard Bausch— at Chapman University in Orange, CA. His fiction has appeared in various journals and magazines.
Aside from applying his years of experience writing and editing, Josh teaches writing at a community college in Philadelphia. He finds inspiration from helping students learn how best to express themselves and their ideas. Being exposed to these diverse voices has helped him discover how telling a great story can make an indelible mark on the world.
